Big Boulder Mountain

We visited Big Boulder Mountain while staying at our friend’s house in the Poconos, and overall it was a really nice family experience. We went with the whole family and decided to try the snow tubing, which was a lot of fun and a great way to spend time together. Unfortunately, the conveyor belt that takes you up the hill broke down, so we had to wait and the activity was interrupted for a while. That was a bit disappointing, especially since everyone was excited to keep going. That said, we still had a great time together, enjoyed the atmosphere, and made some wonderful family memories. The staff handled the situation as best they could, and aside from the equipment issue, the experience was very enjoyable. We’re giving it 4 stars — it would easily be 5 if everything had been running

We've been coming to ski at BB/JF for the past 5 winters. This is our last year. We like the area but mountain 8s just too small. It was fine when the kids were learning to ski but now that I am able to ski independently its just no fun when you get down the mountain in less than a minute. Moving on to bigger and better and my not sad about not coming back. We will likely try Hunter next year and then in the years after that up to Vermont or Maine before going west.

its a small resort but gets the job done. great place to learn how to ski/board but they also have pretty decent black diamond runs. not challenging per se but fun :)

We came over, after Jack Frost closed. As it had been a few years since we skied here, we looked forward to a few runs. The vibe is definitely different and so are the skiers and riders. Packs of straight liners are on every blue and black trail. We had, and saw, so many near misses! While standing on the side of a trail, we heard one rider say "OH NO!!!", as he came within inches (literally) of hitting a skier making really nice and controlled turns. It was obvious, he did not have the ability to stop or turn out of the way of a downhill person. We thought the ski patrol simply couldn't manage the abundance of out of control people, then we saw a patroller straight lining! We hugged a path 15 - 20 wide on the sides, in hope of being safer and even then we had several near misses.

Big Boulder Ski Resort is a great spot for a day on the slopes, offering a surprising mix of terrain for a smaller mountain. Whether you’re a beginner or looking for more challenging runs, there’s something for everyone. I found the lodge is clean and well-maintained, providing a nice place to relax. The staff is friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall enjoyable experience. It was perfect for a quick ski trip.
