Best Western Plus St. Louis West-Westport

I got SCREWED! Very dirty rooms, hallways, and the smell….wow! I originally booked my room online. We got in late were very tired. The room was really dirty, including pubic hairs and make-up on the hand towels along with filthy mirrors, floors, etc. We had to ask for a different room. When we did, the girl at the front desk suggested that I pay a second time in person for the 2nd room. She said she’d provide me a phone # to call and get reimbursed for the first room. This never happened! I ended up paying twice for one room for one night. This hotel has refused to make it right. My attorney sent a letter twice and they ignored both letters. I hate to mention that the girl also had terrible hygiene and smelled really bad. She clearly didn’t know what she was doing which cost me in the long

I drove hours in, making it at midnight, room disgusting. Like is this blood? I didn’t even want to shower and removed the top few covers on the bed. I’m not sure what was on the floor and all the stains in the chair? The AC never cool the room and kept kicking on and off even though I didn’t have it on auto. The hotel smelled of smoke even though it’s smoke-free. I was all around uncomfortable and happy I just had the room for a few hours. I rushed out at 6 am.

Positive: The location is perfect, the amenities are average/a little above average for the star level. It is usually clean and peaceful. I'm a picky, healthy eater so the breakfast offered isn't a 10 out of 10, but its usually at least 6.5 or higher. Usually. Negative: I have stayed at this location 15+ nights since June. During my 1st breakfast of a 6 night stay last week, I was racially profiled. The attendant who I have interacted with 10 hrs earlier, asked me my room number to make sure I wasn't stealing breakfast.

Before I booked my room, I read the different reviews. Some have positive things to say about the hotel, others had negative things. But my experience was wonderful. The desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was very, very clean. I went to sleep around 10:00PM, and slept until after 6:00AM. Felt very safe. The breakfast was also great. They did not have only cereal and toast, but they had sausage links, country fried potatoes, eggs, salsa, yogurt out a machine (never ever saw this before, and I have stayed at many, many different hotels), and many more delicious items to choose. In the future, I plan to stay here again. Also, great price on the room.

Since May 2025, I have stayed at this location around 15+ nights, choosing this BWP over all other comparable hotels in the area. I booked a 5 night stay on September 24. The first morning of my stay, I went down to breakfast. As I was trying to figure out what I wanted to eat, I noticed an employee who wasn't familiar to me. I am very familiar with, and have interacted with, almost all the associates here. As the man passed me, he went and spoke to the breakfast attendant. I have had many interactions with the attendant, including the night before, when he asked the desk attendant did he want him to let me in my room, because I forgot my key.
