Customer Reviews
As a 2-star hotel this place seems underrated. Three of us stayed one night and we were all impressed. Staff were very helpful, breakfast was generous, the pool was well maintained and the room was very clean. We felt we had found a bargain.
Positive: Location near the Broadmoor Arena for a graduation ceremony; very comfortable; GREAT breakfast; nice staff! Negative: n/a
Remove the “best” and just keep “western.” Would be a much more accurate name. A few reasons I will never stay at a “best” western hotel ever again. - There was hair in our bed when we got there (not ours). - Hair in the shower before we used it. - Breakfast was disgusting, truly. The pancakes were sour. Probably were using expired milk. - The floor in our room was sticky. - Looks like potential mold in the bathroom? - As we were waiting to check in the people in front of us were getting charged 30 dollars per night for two night. We paid nearly 90 dollars for just one night. Only good parts: - The bed was comfy as long as I didn’t think about the hair. - The staff was nice. Won’t ever be staying at one of these again. Can’t believe I spent 90 dollars for this 😭
This hotel is located in a funky, hard to find cranny behind a car wash and off an odd frontage road in an industrial business district next to I-25 and busy Lake Ave. The exterior looks old and, honestly, I really wanted to cancel my reservation when I arrived! (non refundable so I stayed.) However, hang in there! My king suite room was lovely - very clean and looks like new carpet and furniture. Coffee and Tea machine in lobby available all the time. There is a pool and little jacuzzi, but they are small. They were full of kids when I was there, so not really good for exercise swimming, but if you want to bob around a bit it might be refreshing. The room was very quiet, I didn't hear any road noise. Nearby to the west is Starsmore Nature Center for hiking, and a great German
No elevators so disabled must get first floor. They lock all the side doors at 8:00. So disabled park at the side of the building, then walk all the way around to the front, then down a long hall to get the room. The hall has a steep ramp. Rooms need a refresh. Key cards are difficult to use. You put cards in slot pull it out and you have less than a second to operate the handle before it locks again.
