Best Western Alamo Suites

My biggest issues are the hot tub is not hot, both hot tub and pool could use a cleaning. All the lounge chairs are broke with the exception of 1 or 2. Rust on bottom of one of the rails. Room was nice but couch and chair had stains and very dated, and the beds are really uncomfortable, not enough covers/blankets and pillows are also uncomfortable. Our bathroom the popcorn ceiling in shower was coming down, and the toilet paper dispenser was coming out of the wall. I do not recommend ordering from room service menu. Very pricey and food was just mediocre at best. I will spend the extra $60 a night and stay right on or near the river walk. Only picked Best Western due to hot tub and the great experience in South Padre Island a few years ago.

We’ve stayed here for a week, and decided to extend another week since my husband got a job here in San Antonio I’m very picky with hotels, but this one has been amazing. The front desk, Rebecca is super friendly, and all of the other staff is also incredibly helpful. The room is great no bugs, no stains, ac works great, the restroom was extremely clean when we got here, and the tv and WiFi work perfectly. Room came with a microwave and a small fridge two beds and a pull out bed as well. It’s spacious, and it’s not too noisy once it’s after hours time. There is an indoor pool, the jacuzzi is down right now unfortunately. The breakfast in the morning has saved me so much time making food. This would be my third visit/review of this property, and they are doing a good job of maintaining quality.. There are a tiny few parking spaces up front, leaving the most of the guests coming in the back door only to be greeted by STAIRS. Baggage carts refuse to climb stairs, and they don't employ a bell captain. This needs updating in the worst way, unless you are that traveler that brings nothing, and doesn't mind climbing stairs.||||As I walk through the common areas of this place, I first notice the age of the building. Everything about it is being cared for, such as no burned out light bulbs, and detail repairs being made. Positive: The breakfast was really good and the staff was amazing Negative: Our room was hot at first but we called front desk and they brought up a fan really quickly then at night too we called again cuz it was warm in there and they brought up another fan and it was cool in there. They did a good job at helping g us out.

We had a great time here. Breakfast was good, Texas shaped waffles were fun. Room was clean and cozy, a bit dinky, bathroom door didn't lock, handle was a little janky. The lights also flickered when you turned them off and there was a hole in the carpet. Location is pretty good, very close and convenient to downtown. A little seedy though, someone was definitely smoking weed in the hallway on our floor. We were happy and comfortable and would consider this hotel if staying in San Antonio again.
