I recently camped up here for a few days and it was my first time here. I rarely camp so, choosing an area was difficult, but I settled on this one as the reviews were solid. This place was very easy to find and the drive wasn't too windy or perilous at all. If you are familiar with the Camp Nelson area, you can find this with ease. Like most camp areas, getting information can be difficult and you won't know what amenities are there until you get up there so, here is some info you should know: - They have two bathroom buildings with two toilets each (toilet paper is provided along with air freshener). - There are multiple taps for water access and they allow campfires without permits as long as you use the firepits and do not collect from the woods as the forestry service had to stop th

Beautiful place to camp unfortunately campsites are closed right now in December but really looking forward to camp once it's open.

Book this now! Sites #7 #11, #13 & #14 sit directly on the river. Site #15 is also on the river, but with a smaller footprint. No matter what site, you will hear the river 24/7 and not be disappointed. As others expressed, this campground is well maintained. Rentable cabins sit on the river behind the campground. Staying here puts you at an approx. 45 min drive to the Trail of 1000 Giants, Needles and Dome. There is a general store (closes at 6) and pizza/bar 1 mile from camp.

This camp ground is awesome. It's very well kept. The sites are even raked before you arrive. The camp host is helpful and informative, knows the area really well. It's really beautiful.
