Beach Shack

Dog and kid friendly hotel. We could walk to everything. The staff was attentive and friendly. The pool area is very nice and has plenty of seating. The beds are comfortable. Loved that each room has its own private outdoor area. The only drawback backs are the shower layout (the glass divider isn’t big enough so water gets on the floor) and the lack of parking. Most of the parking lot is reserved for valet but we never saw anyone working the valet booth. Overall, we would definitely come back and stay again!

First time staying here during the winter. Great location and very kind staff. Room was spacious and clean. Some glitches when we got there (no heat) but they worked quickly to get it fixed. Also they offered a continental breakfast but it could use some improvements. It was a Keurig coffee maker that did single serve only so hard to manage with a group of people. Also, food was offered a bit at a time which made some guests leave. But overall good place to stay.

First time at Beach Shack and it surpassed our expectations. We stayed in a family suite which was beautiful, private and very affordable for a family of 4. It had all the services that its sister hotel, Congress Hall has, but was more suited for families with kids. The pool was nice and easily accessible. The Rusty Nail is the restaurant on site for breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Staff were friendly and helpful. The views were beautiful and the beach was just across the street. The Beach Shack has the same beach service as Congress Hall with beach chairs, umbrellas and towel service as well as on the beach menu. It is clean and very family focused.

The Rusty Nail has always been our favorite bar in Cape May, it’s where we had a welcome party for our wedding, and so we decided to stay here for our 10-year wedding anniversary. Rooms have few frills but that wasn’t important to us - can’t beat the location, right next to beach, with pool for kids, and can walk right down to the restaurant. Plan on making this an annual tradition - not sure why we didn’t sooner!
