Baymont by Wyndham Roanoke Rapids

Terrible Hotel Experience I recently stayed at what can only be described as one of the worst hotels I’ve ever encountered. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was hit with a musty smell that made me question my decision to check in. The place was filthy! Trash littered the floors, and it was clear that the staff had no interest in cleanliness. The front desk man was rude and lied to us!! My room was no better. The floors were noisy, and it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. There were visible stains on the walls and the bathroom was nothing short of a horror show—the shower had mold growing in it, and the toilet didn’t flush properly. We stopped at the Baymont Roanoke Rapids as we were driving north on I95 and needed a hotel that was both per and budget friendly (we were going to be there for about 7 hours). The Baymont ticked both boxes. Be aware, you get what you pay for. The bed was fine, very firm and we had our own pillows. The shower had great pressure and was hot. We never turned the television on or anything so can’t speak to that, although the room did have a microwave and small refrigerator. Some obvious pluses: great location near all kinds of amenities and restaurants. Great green space in the back for taking the dog out or even throwing a football/baseball/frisbee around. Pool area seemed nice, was obviously closed in January.

We used to stay here quite a bit during road trips and had great experiences. This recent stay was the first time that we were actually disgusted and will never return. 1) Rooms smelled like smoke even though it was a non-smoking room 2) Bathrooms were dirty. No other way to put it. We didn’t want to touch anything 3) Water got clogged in the tub super fast 4) Shower curtain was literally brown 4) There were also brown disgusting stains on the walls throughout the room 5) Furniture was breaking apart and gross, we didn’t even want to sit on anything We instantly regretted choosing this place once we walked into the room. Nice place cheap. You should start cleaning the drains in the bathroom and sweep under the beds. There was no bugs and room was clean. Needs another trash can for the bathroom too it's crazy not to have one in there. The staff was so friendly and never made me feel like I was bothering them. They deserve a raise.

I use the same room every time in town no bugs no issues . It's older mom and pop kind of place but very nice people there your everyday people but much nicer then the fancy dressed ones ! Facts . Cheep no bugs quick shower and sleep I'd say 5 star but again mom pop style not fancy but nicer then the fancy people bet ....
