Customer Reviews
Bamboo Waikiki is an old fashioned hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Our room was spacious, clean, and well-stocked with a small kitchenette and some utensils and dishes. The pool area is a pretty, comfortable space that feels like a little private garden in the bustling city.
Catching up on this review because of the holidays. My first visit here and it was just a couple of months ago. Stayed a couple of weeks and found everything pleasant and the staff courteous and kind. Being that it's so close to everything makes it so convenient for vacationers. A fun place to stay. Definitely recommend. Five Stars here!
We booked through booking. com. At check in we were told we had to pay a $40/day resort fee. Scam. I am very careful when making reservations, and both booking.com and the Bamboo were not helpful. Seemed like they were in cahoots and neither one would give a straight answer. We were so far away from home, and they know your hands are tied because of that, so we had to pay another $200+, when my booking.com reservation stated all taxes and additional fees were paid in full. No where did it mention $40/day resort fee, otherwise we would have booked elsewhere. Bamboo not that nice of a place either. Very disappointed in their customer service.
Overall, place is not good. Cheap rooms, but Hawaiian hotels can have a lot of random fees. This place only has about 12 parking stalls for approximately 144 rooms. Rooms are also outdated, the area carpets are not vacuumed, they only do room service every 7 days, there was a live roach inside my mini fridge, the parking garage smells like a sewer, the rooms smell bad also.
It is an economy hotel in a good location. There is still a resort fee of about 500.00 upon arrival. And there is only one cleaning allowed after a 7 day stay. There is a covered garage for parking for an additional free. Waikiki is expensive food wise but the meals at the restaurant connected to the hotel were fair. The staff made the stay very pleasant and it was a convenient location.
