Great rV camp ground, was here in November and there were still quite a few rv’s here. It’s sits up on a hill so the view of the mountains is beautiful. It’s close to the major highways and all attractions. The pool was closed when I was here, but it looked very nice, bathrooms are small and dated but suitable for what you need. Electric and water at each site. The front desk staff are pleasant and helpful.
We stayed two nights. The site we were given was barely long and wide enough to accommodate our RV so we had to park the truck in an alternate spot. At one point my husband temporarily parked in an empty lot next door (while setting up) and we received a phone call that we need to move it immediately or be charged. We were 20 feet from the office - she could have walked over and said it. Lot across from us had 7 dogs. Yes 7 and all, including ours, were barking at 7 am. A crew was working on pouring new concrete around the pool and using the women's restroom. My daughter was showering and one of them used the combo and opened the main door. He did leave immediately when he realized someone was inside. So much for a safe bathroom/shower combination lock. Why not give them the men'
Although this campground is close to highways and has road noise, the excellent location more than makes up for it. We stayed 10 days, visited many restaurants and breweries as well as Biltmore and the Arboretum, and traveled to regional attractions including Grandfather Mountain and Chimney Rock. The sites are not very large but in an exciting destination like Asheville we spent little time at the camper. Could not be more pleased with our stay. Clean bathrooms and laundry too.
I stayed here a couple of nights just to be close to Asheville for weekend after being in a primitivd site in Pisgah for a week. I drove by day prior to check out campground. Lady on phone was super nice but older lady when I stopped by was unfriendly!!! I came by and asked if I could possibly check in early and she was very dry! Next day I arrived knowing my site was about and she charged me for one of their stickers because I arrived early, seriously????? And my neighbors had similar experience with her too. I would go back just for convenience of downtown Asheville, it’s right on interstate and all the trees block the noise well. But if rude ole lady is still there I’ll go elsewhere!!!!
Sites were clean and plentiful. First person in office was friendly during check in. The lady at checkout, less so. Community room was well laid out and stocked for seating. Bathrooms were clean as were showers.
