I needed a last minute one night stay to rest on a long road trip and this "castle" (repurposed armory) was certainly a pleasant surprise! The two staff I met checking in and out were friendly and helpful. I was in a corner room, meaning although I still only had 1 window, I only shared 1 wall as well and it was nice a quiet. My room was clean and unique, bed was comfortable, nicely decorated, TV, lots of little closets, and there was small fridge/microwave/Keurig with complementary coffee, tea, a few snacks and water. The bathroom was very generous in size with a walk-in shower and again, clean - my photos do not adequately show how large the floor space is. Positive: Amazing conversion of use of a very historic building to museum hotel. Beautiful Negative: No restaurant, bar or any alternate food or beverage service. Very few guests, gave creepy feeling.

From the moment we arrived, our experience at Amsterdam Castle was exceptional. Donna at the front desk truly set the tone for our stay. She was not only warm and welcoming, but incredibly kind and genuinely helpful. Her hospitality made us feel instantly at ease and taken care of. The rooms were absolutely stunning. They were massive, beautifully designed, and felt so cozy and home-like. It truly felt like a home away from home. Everything was spotless and impeccably clean, while still honoring the castle’s rich history. The attention to detail was amazing. You can see so many original historical elements thoughtfully preserved, blended seamlessly with a modern, clean aesthetic. It is rare to find a place that balances character and comfort this well. The location was another huge plus.

The property management really know their trade. Rooms are well maintained, bathroom updated with higher end finishes, good shower with strong water flow, very cozy rooms and comfortable beds. Furniture is like new. Clean carpets. Friendly and knowledgeable people working at the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay at the castle. They didn’t mind our two small kids either (they are well behaved I must say). It’s rather quiet there but that’s the good thing about it. Appreciated the tea station in the room with complimentary snacks. The large collection of art and paintings all over the place is worth a trip too!
