Americas Best Value Inn North Capital

TV didn't work in room, so moved to another where AC didn't work. Moved back to earlier room. Realized middle of the night refrigerator leaked all over the floor. In the morning I used micrwave and saw that it hadn't been clean. Staff responsive to problems and tried to correct. But overall a very un happy experience.

I had room 107 it smelled to the high heavens, had a broken piece furniture stored in it, floors were filthy and so was the vanity & bathroom area. The walls have not been cleaned since the early 1900's. Room 107 should not have been on the market. That room was so horrible that I did not shower until I returned home because I was afraid that I would catch something. I told the man at the desk about it and the only thing he said was that he would tell the manager about it. There was not any type of compensation offered at all. The only reason I stayed there was because I did not want to drive 4-5 hours to get to RDU airport from Columbia S.C. and the other hotels in the area prices were too high for just an overnight stay. Awful! Right off the desk clerk was being a smart mouth about absolutely everything, then when we got into the run down room, it only became worse. The air conditioner didn't work properly, we had to place the microwave on counter by the sink so we could plug it in to use it. The outlets were not easy to access at all, the water pressure was terrible and the noise from neighbors kept me up late. I dont recommend this hotel to anyone, unless you just need it for an hour or so.

We had an employee check into this hotel on Feb 13 and within just a few minutes of being in the room it was already a HORRIBLE situation. He walks into the room to find burns on the bed cover, holes in the wall, some sort of drug bags or something under the bed. The chair was broken and to top it off he found a half eaten burrito in the bed!!!! At which point he contacted us to move him from this establishment. The employee working the front desk then tried to accuse our employee of the damages to the room. Needless to say after speaking with us our room wasn't charged and we will make sure NO ONE ever stays at this establishment!

It is a great place to stay. The staff is nice and friendly. They do have a limit on how long you may stay. With COVID-19, I do not know if there were any changes implemented. I have stayed at America's Best 3-4 times over the years,.it is a very nice hotel, a family run business. A1A.
