Americas Best Value Inn Azusa Pasadena

The rooms are very spacious and more importantly they are clean. I felt very welcomeed and comfortable. The part that got me feeling some kind of way was i called before i booked to ask if the HOT tub [jacuzzi] was working i told yes. The jacuzzi was cold. The water in the shower was also on the cooler side. The continental breakfast was pret weak. The options are apple or orange juice. Coffees regular (not strong at all. I dont drink coffee regularly, so i know it was weak) or deaf. No fruit options just party's. I still say this place is a value. Best price and accommodation in a very wide area.

Things must have changed since the 4 star rating. When we checked in we were greeted with the notification of a required $100 CASH deposit which was not mentioned on the Trip Advisor website. I assume it was for the tv remote control which was handed to us and promptly handed back. The room was spartan with a firm king size bed, dresser/desk, over stuffed chair that badly needed cleaning, no end table lamps but overhead in ceiling lights. The bathroom was “tagged” by graffiti on one wall and the liquid shower soap dispensers were empty. Luckily this was a one night stay which we would not recommend!

Positive: The room was spacious and decently appointed. Negative: Miserable low quality showerhead. Staff demanded $100 cash upon arrival then withdrew the request. Felt extortionist. Staff calls you 20 minutes before checkout like it's a minimum security prison. One of the worst hotel stays of my life.

Booking.com quoted this place at $100 a night, nope it was $180 with a $50 early check in fee on top of it. It's older and cheaply remodeled. There is no breakfast, they have horrible coffee with powder creamer and sugar and some weird pastries that look like they came from a dollar store if that.. They advertise a spa and pool well the Jacuzzi doesn't work and the pool isn't heated. Only went with this place because of the location to the Renaissance Fair. I'll drive farther for something nicer next time.

The room was clean and affordable. The only complaint is they make you get housekeeping services so u have to vacate the room whenever they get the itch and it's inconvenient. The Jacuzzi was the same temp as the pool and had no jet bubbles working either. But staff is very friendly and accommodating.
