American Motel

The people of the staff the owner of very good people they are very good to the homeless and very good to the yuppies and they have clean rooms and go bend over backwards to help you and the manager will bend over backwards to help you

My husband and I decided to take a trip down to Santa Monica and our friends told us that this area was probably the best and the most economical, and it was! The area was really wonderful! The room wasn't 5 star quality, but for how much we paid for it, it wasn't bad. All I'm saying is, if you want a wallet friendly deal and you want to be really close to the ocean, this would probably be your best bet for a motel. We couldn't find anything closer to the promenade, the beach, or their main mall for that little of cost. The guy who worked there was nice too.

We were having trouble finding a vacancy and a reasonable rate. Happened to drive by this place. Good neighborhood and rate. But the first warning sign was when the woman at the front took my debit card and instead of letting me swipe it asked me for my pin. Then walking towards the room up the stairs we noticed homeless people under the building in the carport area. Also trailers with eyes peering out. It appeared these folks were allowed to stay on property which would not be so bad to help folks but they appeared to he druggies and strung out. We went up to the room, opened the door and looked around briefly I opened the bed covers. There was a cigarette burn having burned through the blanket and sheet perfectly aligned which made me think the sheets hadn’t been changed since

We took a room there at the last minute because we realized there was nowhere in Santa Monica we could park our RV and spend the night in. What a mistake. The room stank of cigaret, everything was old, dirty and worn off. Didn't even get to see the bathroom but I prefer not to imagine. There was no way we would spend a night in such a filthiest place, probably the most disgusting hotel I have ever seen. We ended up sleeping in our RV, on the parking of the motel. Avoid at any cost!

My husband and I nearly stayed here on 6th June. To al those who remember the war that is "D" day. "D" in this instance stands for DIRTY, DISGUSTING, DEPLORABLE..... I can't begin to describe the bathroom but I don't believe we were the only creatures living in it! The carpet was filthy, your shoes stuck to it when walking over it. The sheets were stained and the bedspread was all cigarette burns. We handed them the keys back - they did offer us another room but we refused. So no refund there. It's not in the best part of town, please please please, no matter how tired you are - keep driving! don't stay here. This is a disgrace to the town of Santa Monica - why is this motel still allowed to trade - do they not have hotel inspectors here??
