Aloft Savannah Downtown Historic District

First, I do want to say every staff members I encountered was very nice. We were greeted every time we walked past the desk. Also, the location is an easy walk to Riverstreet. We walked everywhere we went while visiting. Just make note, due to lack of parking in the streets, you may have to valet park in their garage which is $48 per night. The valet guys were very polite & you can come/go as much as you want. You just have to call for your car. Also, this is a dog friendly hotel which is great if you want to bring your fur baby. We were next to a yapping dog that never stopped. If we called it an early night, we had to hear the dog barking. Our room was also very noisy with what was probably the ac unit. We had to sleep with our phone playing YouTube white noises to drowned it out. Also,

My hubby and I had such a great time while staying at this aloft location. The room was clean and the property well kept. The lobby layout is quite nice. There’s great work space areas and there’s even a pool table in the lobby. The staff is super friendly. Dina gave us a nice birthday welcome and Chris (& his lovely jacket) gave us a friendly send off. We will certainly return to this location in Savannah again. :)

The room was clean and the staff was nice. I made a date error on my reservation and fortunately, they were able to correct it for me. Location is good for walking the downtown areas. We found it a bit difficult to navigate upon arrival by vehicle as there is no "entryway" that you can pull up to in order to check-in or even ask where parking is. The parking garage is not labeled for Aloft, it's labeled as parking for the Fairfield by Marriott. You have to get buzzed into the main lobby by the desk clerk after you find the doorbell, I'm guessing it's for safety. The doorbell is not clearly labeled for guests to know where to enter the building. There are 3 sets of doors on the front of the lobby and they are all locked at all times (hint: use the far left doors by the corner). Thankfully,

I don't usually have a drinks at the hotels bar, but we had a little time to kill before we left for dinner. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices and service. Other hotels I've been to have extremely high prices for for thier drinks. Our bartender was Aushieya and she was phenomenal! She was very personable and we enjoyed chatting with her. I was also very surprised that she can not receive cash tips. I don't understand that but I was in the food service industry for many years and if you receive good service they should be able to get a cash tip. I'm sure there are corporate rules but this one should be changed. The Aloft hotel has an excellent locatand the staff is always smiling and welcoming. I will definitely be back.
