Aloft Chicago Downtown River North

The staff here are phenomenal and super friendly; every single one I encountered! Hotel is modern and clean. Price was really good but then again it's December. It's definitely a bit noisy but if you're looking for a quiet stay in Chicago, probably avoid this entire neighborhood haha. Location is super convenient too.

This was genuinely one of the worst hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. I went out for the evening and unfortunately lost my room key. I fully understand that losing a key is my responsibility, and I wasn’t trying to avoid accountability. However, I am a 21-year-old woman who was alone at night, returning to a hotel I had already paid for and instead of being met with basic professionalism or concern for safety, I was treated with hostility. The staff were extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. Rather than helping resolve the situation calmly, it felt like they were prepared to put me back out on the street without any empathy or reasonable attempt to assist a paying guest. I have never experienced such aggressive and unwelcoming behavior from hotel staff before. Policies are one thin

Stayed at the aloft hotel for a week during the marathon last week with a couple of hundred runners and I have to say it was top class. Very attentive staff who were extremely friendly.||The hotel is very modern and trendy and in a brilliant location with the river walk only a ten minute walk while a nearby train station in river west takes you to o’ hare on the blue line. || I dealt mainly with Richard Owen’s at the front desk who was amazing and could t have done more for me and my team. Top marks to Richard and look forward to next year. Carlos also at the front desk was great help on check out day. Thanks Carlos. See ye next year.

Very good trip and very nice place to stay! Clean. You can sometimes hear outside traffic from the room but it’s not that bad. The staff is polite and helpful. We just had an issue with the means of payment available. It does say on the app that they accept cash but they are cashless.

The staff here, especially the security team at this establishment, are incredibly rude, unprofessional, and excessive for no reason. I went out for the night with my friend, and after the bars closed, we stopped back at the hotel, went for a walk, and returned at around 5:30am. Upon returning, as we were about to enter using my room key, as it was after hours, I noticed that there was a young woman, college aged, like myself, in some kind of argument with the security guard. I overheard that she had lost her room key, was staying with her friend, but her friend was nowhere to be found, and could not be reached, as this woman was in posession of her friend's phone.
