Aloft Chesapeake

I’ve stayed at Aloft Chesapeake Greenbrier many times over the years and usually love it, but this recent stay was extremely disappointing. The woman who checked me in the night before was amazing—warm, friendly, and reminded me why I’ve always chosen this location. However, my experience the next morning with a staff member named Alicia was the opposite. She didn’t greet me, didn’t make eye contact, and was rude and dismissive from the start. I booked a room with breakfast included, but she insisted it wasn’t and made me pay out of pocket. When I showed proof, she offered no apology and told me my card would now be charged twice and I’d have to wait days for a refund. This hotel has sadly gone terribly downhill. We’ve been stopping here for a few years on our way south but missed last year. In the two years since we’ve stayed it has deteriorated greatly. It’s dirty all throughout the hotel, the ac didn’t work in our first room so we requested to move. The TV didn’t work in the second room but we were so disgusted we just stayed (on points) and left first thing in the morning. The only positive was the bartender who was very sweet and friendly. We are high Marriott members and this hotel desperately needs attention and renovations.

Traveling through from Tampa to New England… just wanted a place to stay for a couple of nights… didn’t know the place turns into a juke joint u til midnight or more. Just want to get some sleep in a hotel… not be kept awake by booming bass coming through the floor. DO NOT STAY on second floor if you are looking to actually gets good nights sleep.

My husband and I did a little staycation after Christmas and we were pleased overall with Aloft. They had a live jazz musician playing when we went to the dining bar area for dinner and the staff was very pleasant. I would have preferred a firmer pillow for sleeping but, it was a good experience.
