Ali’i Tower

Rooms were clean and quiet even right next to the pool. The views were beautiful, loved that we had maid service every day. Food on site is only okay, venture out and try other places. Live music at Tapa bar was great.

We staying early November at the Ali'i Tower. We traveled with our two kids, 6 & 3. Grandparents were with us in another room. We LOVED being so close to the beach, for the view and also for access and ease with little kids. The towel rental and close proximity made going back and forth to the room a breeze. There were so many pools to go to with them and always a bar for snack and drinks. Ali'i Tower is a BIG MUST because they have a pool only for guests in that tower (with a bar) as well as a dedicated check in desk. Within the resort, this makes you feel like you have your own quiet space. The room was SO QUIET. I thought a few times that we didn't hear neighbors and appreciated the thick walls! So much wear and tear on the property. There is no upkeep. Water damage in the rooms. Broken furniture. Pubic hair in the shower. There was lipstick on my towels when I went to take a shower. They only give you 2 towels total to begin with. It gives off the vibe that ppl here have stolen before so they don’t want anything given out. Even the corkscrews are bolted to the wall in the hallway. You wake up to hearing construction and sirens from the road. The “village” is a free for all between like 4 towers. The main “super pool” has about 120 chairs. For 3000 rooms - that on an average house 2-4 ppl. The math ain’t mathing. There is another pool further back which is even smaller. Been to Waikiki many times over the years. Diamond Hilton status. Location cannot be beaten! $400 per night room and needs a refresh. Private pool area was in disrepair. Fine… but everything here is way overpriced and not so great value. Had a $36 per day food & beverage credit. Happy to pay for high end resorts but Hilton needs to deliver, unfortunately not here. One issue was the loud music emulating from the neighboring resort bar. We had an Ocean View room on 10th floor. At least the beats from below ended at 10pm but there were hardly any “punters” at the place. Otherwise a comfortable stay, room was well located. Note…. Spouse was enticed into a facial at an Inglot store.. well some huckster tried some high pressure sales tactics for her to buy a face mask at $6k … she walked away… w

I was not impressed by this hotel by any means. The rooms are dated and the beds are hard. Don’t even offer queen size beds for doubles. They are fulls. The valet is wreck….and good luck trying to find anyone willing to work, someone is always on break. However, Hawai’i is beautiful and worth the trip. I will definitely be returning but will look to stay in boutique hotel instead of these bigger brand name hotels.
