21c Museum Hotel Durham

Only suggestion is for folks at reception offer a bit of info upon check in. Was our first time staying there. Light switches, for example, confusing. Where to find early morning coffee. We were told that the water from the tap is unsafe to drink. Really? Devon, the valet, was very helpful, warm, nice.

I had a wonderful stay! From the moment I checked in to check out, the staff was kind and attentive! The room was comfortable! The building is full of history and the art in the galleries are beautiful and emotionally thought provoking! It came out that my birthday was during my stay and I was sent a sweet little treat with a hand written card from the staff! That was so special for me!!! I'll stay here again, for sure! A special shout out to: Stephanie, Haley, Kiera, Tassia, Sara, Morgan, Paul. The front desk young man who checked me in February 6th at 4pm. Sorry I can't remember your name but you deserve recognition!!! Chef David and door men Theas and Stan. You all made my stay very memorable!!!!

I had a great stay here. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful—to the point that they actually learned guests’ names and greeted us personally when we passed by, which made the experience feel genuinely welcoming. The rooms were decent and comfortable, and the in-room kitchens were a huge bonus, especially for an extended stay since it made saving money by cooking easy. Even though the hotel is downtown, it was surprisingly quiet and within walking distance of so many great local spots. I would absolutely stay here again the next time I’m in Durham.

I first want to say, the staff were amazing. Everyone was sweet, professional, and attentive. 10 stars for the staff. Other wise I was a bit disappointed. Our room was dark with several lights not working. The over head light did not work. We notified the front desk and someone came to look. They informed us they didn’t know why it wouldn’t work and would have to notify a supervisor. There was no other resolution offered so the room was very dark In the evening. The floor lamps had cords showing which looked very tacky. Not a big deal but I would expect the prices to be lower considering the room accommodations aren’t great. We spent 4 nights at the 21c Museum hotel.. This experience from beginning to end was exceptional- the folks at the front desk were helpful and polite and gave us some background on the art. The bed was very comfortable( I have a bad back so this matters). The service was what you would get at higher end hotels. The hotel is spotless, the room serviced everyday without asking , This hotel is an old bank with many sections such as the vault and the flooring preserved. Everyone from the valets to the front desk were polite and you can tell took pride in their job. The shower in room 612 was exceptional. We loved everything about this stay. If you like the Raddison go to a Raddison- if you want a truly unique experience, surrounded by art and excellent service, book this hotel!
