1st Interstate Inn Montrose

This is awesome motel for best rate in town with King studios with Kitchenette, can't be enough happy about the place knowing we can cook out own meal being very picky about our food. Best location, clean room. Manager Danny was amazing host and way better than Airbnb but not Airbnb prices.

On their website they claim that there is a 24 hour reception desk. I booked a room based on the idea that the hotel is reliable in its claims, and drove 40 minutes to arrive at night. Unfortunately, there is no 24 hour reception seak and no way to check in when the reception desk. When I called the hotel, they didn't try to resolve the issue; they didn't even apologize. Rather, they simply stated that nobody can give me the key, and when I was't terribly happy about the idea of being homeless for a night because they thought saying "24 hour reception desk" sounded sexy, they hung up and never answeed again.||I don't recommend doing business with people who deceive customers and don't care about the consequences this has on customers.

I booked a room for 11/8/25 and read online that I could check in until 11pm. I got there at 10 pm and was calling the number it says to call on the door and I could literally hear the phone ringing inside and there was nobody there. I waited for 30 minutes. Insanely inconvenient and annoying to have to find somewhere else to stay at that time of night. I called the next morning asking to get a refund since I wasn’t able to stay and it was their fault and was told that a refund was processing by the time I hung up. I never got it so called again on 12/1 and the lady was rude and short and said to call expedia instead since we booked through them, just really bad service

Positive: Our bed was the most comfortable I have EVER slept in during my entire lifetime! Our room was impeccably clean!! WOW! Very friendly housekeeping staff. I highly recommend the 1st Interstate Inn in Montrose, CO to anyone. Low price, high value! Negative: Their swimming pool was under construction, which is NOT the fault of the hotel front desk person. She was very nice about it. **

Bedbugs and bad customer service! Within an hour of checking in my daughter saw a bedbug. She notified the front desk, and was told if she did not bring the bedbug down he would not issue a refund. I called and spoke with the manager who was rude and said if we didn't provide proof he would not refund her money. We had to dispute charges with the bank and my daughter had to drive 45 minutes away at 10pm to find another place to stay.
