19 Atlantic Hotel

My husband and I came to Virginia Beach for the weekend to fish at the nearby pier. The pier was on 14th Street and the 19Atlantic is on 19th. The room was significantly less expensive as the oceanfront properties and was just across the street from the beach/boardway area. The location is great as there are alot of places to walk to. The rooftop deck had a pretty view of the beach and serves more as a smoking area. It was not well maintained like in the pictures. Cigarette butts everywhere and old chairs. Our room was alot smaller than we anticipated and when we sat on the toilette our knees almost touched the wall. We were missing washclothes and bathmat as well. The most disgusting place I ever had to stay at. Heard pounding music all night until 4am. Dirty sheets and blankets with weird stains on them and I couldn't even find anyone to get me clean sheets.. Hairs and grime in the shower... it was filthy and absolutely repulsive. Stayed up all night because of it and got no sleep at all. Stay away.

This place has bad customer service. You never know when the front door will be open for you to get in the building to buy a hotel room. They have no working telephone number. The staff at the front desk show up when they feel like it so you wil have to come and go multiple times to the hotel hoping someone is finally there. No one has time for that!

J1 students and others, sleep on street , do not accommodate here. the photos are totally fake. There is no window in rooms, ac does not work properly, the bed is bunk, cost too much, reception always sleeps in and the back room and you are lucky if you find them. When you leave you need to fight for months to be able to get your deposit back. I wrote 99+ mail and could get my deposit back with their bad words to me , scammers!!!

This hotel is basically an older hotel that has been remodeled. The staff was friendly, but the room wasn’t good. I stayed in room 334. There is a window unit, but there isn’t a plug close by to plug it in so it was useless for air in the room. Sleeping in a hot room is not good 🥵. The dresser was old and broken down so we didn’t even unpack our bags. The bed was supposed to be a double but it was the size of a twin size bed. The shower is pretty new, but we had trouble figuring out how to go from bath to shower since there isn’t a knob to pull up to change to shower but that was operator error🤦🏽‍♀️.
