Customer Reviews
A really lovely hostel. It’s convenient to check in and out, and easy to get to the Yosemite. It’s a pity for me to hurry to leave. Private room can be used if you need a personal space for your friend.
The hostel was clean, safe and in a great location. We had a great time at the the oldest saloon in California, The Iron Door Saloon. This little town was the place to be. Since we shared a 8-person room, the $40/bed with shared bath was pricey. Given that other hotels in the area are expensive, it might just be the price you have to pay. The bathrooms were odd but what you would expect for a hostel. There is no cell service in town so free wifi was awesome. The staff was very friendly. I would recommend
Overall for the price and the area I’d recommend if you’re a young person traveling to Yosemite! Compared to hostels around the world it’s very very basic. Kitchen was sparse, one bathroom for 10-15 people, and very few common areas. No activities or gatherings etc like you might expect. It’s really a place to just sleep. There are some nice outdoor areas and free, large parking. No storage lockers if that’s important to you. Bring your own towel. Bed was thin but fine if you like firmer mattresses - I brought my own pillow which made it comfier too. I did meet people from all over the US and the world, so it had a good vibe for me due to that! I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Yosemite just don’t expect the same set up as what you might find elsewhere.
I gave it 3 stars because everything was clean. The house we stayed in, is on the opposite side of their check in location. We had a private room. The house itself looks old from the outside. The inside is not modern either. They used old and antique furniture. Not my style. Large kitchen without fork, knife and spoons😑. Just good for two nights, dont expect much. From this hostel it's one hour drive to the Yosemite National Park. Around the hostel you will find some restaurants and stores.
It's fine for a night. It kind of smells and is overpriced. The beds were clean and the shared yellow house had a good kitchen and bathroom.
