Groveland Motel

If you are going to Yosemite and need a place to stay, look elsewhere. The rooms are small, and dirty. Our toilet didn't flush properly, and there was very little hot water. We had to ask for towels because there weren't any in the room, and the office clerk was put out by the request. The internet is slow as hell, and despite promises of HBO and other premium channels, they are through a roku stick, which doesn't work well due to the lack of good internet. It is better to sleep in your car, or to find a campground rather than waste your money on this awful place.

Was the room absolutely gross and littered with bugs living in it? Yes. Were the floors and ceiling falling apart? Also yes. Did the simple things like deadbolts and doors not work? Yep. But is a place you can sleep if you’re in a pinch. Which we were.

This place has now become a “story” in our family because it was picked as a last minute stay as we had just exited Yosemite for the evening. Unfortunately we did not read any reviews before we committed. Everything in this place is dated as others have mentioned. We were fortunate to not have had bed bugs but we had a horrible experience with the plumbing as we were about to leave. The shower stopped draining and when we flushed the toilet it came back up through the shower. Yikes!!||My advice is look for other accommodations in the area and do your research on Trip Advisor before committing to any overnight stay.

This is a great location about an hour away from Yosemite Valley which is why we picked it. We just needed a place to rest our heads for a couple hours and this accomplished that. However the condition of the rooms themselves were pretty terrible. I found several stains, hairs etc in the bedding. The door to our room did not fully seal so there was a draft coming through and the bathrooms were bare minimum but usable. It served the purpose of an affordable and quick stay but I don't think I'd elect to do it again.

Complete lack of care put into this place. I get being a budget motel but this is on another level. Charging $120 a night is highway robbery. There was a light shining right into the window all night. The curtain did nothing. Had to make a blindfold. The stuff others have said about cleanliness is obviously true. Some people are just takers.
