Diamond Gulch Camp

Me and my wife were nervous about our first camping trip together, but I'm glad to say everything went smooth and we loved camping at Diamond Gulch! We went mid August and had plenty of shaded spots to choose from under the trees. We arrived on Thursday around 2pm and there was only one other couple there, but on Friday there were about 3-4 other sites filled up by campers but still felt very spacious. There were sites right next to ours that would've felt too close if they were taken, but luckily for us they were empty and the other campers were spread out. John was great, he came to check in on us with his dog Molly on Friday, and he provided plenty of free firewood for us to have a campfire every night! We stayed for 2 nights and loved the entire experience. John is an amazing host; he stayed up late welcoming guests. The location is perfect for stargazing, with water available at every site, decent bathrooms, and hot showers. Most importantly, it’s just a 1-hour drive from Yosemite. Nice place to stop for a night, loved watching the birds in the trees all around the campsite. Woke up to a donkey and a bunch of cows 🐮. Minus one star because it was a bit pricey, and I couldn’t figure out the DIY shower haha. I’m sure I could have asked the owner though.

Was a wonderful experience! The host was super helpful even at night when we didn’t find our designated spot (even though it had super obvious signs - our fault) Super lovely host and a beautiful ranch. Can only recommend lighting up a little campfire and stargazing at night!

Great camping space! The owner is a really nice guy, he takes his time to come chat a little. It's really nice that they build their own showers. The toilet and showers are clean. Very nice place to stay!
