Woodland Resort

Since 1980 Woodland Resort has been our first choice in Leech Lake area resorts. It is located on Kabekona Bay which is a short boat ride from Leech Lake (the big lake). The advantage to Kabekona is that you can still get to its great fishing when it is too wind to venture out into big lake.||The resort owners, Mike and Kelly, have created a wonderful, low key, and friendly environment. They are the second generation to own and run the resort. They have a huge return guest list that, like my wife and I, consider them friends. Here is an example why they are so highly regarded: In the about 2004 we were using our camper trailer in their campground at the far end of the resort. My wife was completing a masters degree and making frequent walks up to the lodge to submit work using the resort's

This is such a lovely place. The owners are very friendly and accommodating. It is located right on the biking trail and not far at all from Walker. The resort itself is quiet and has several varieties of cabins as well as four gorgeous campsites right on the lake. The sites have water and electric, a picnic table, and a firepit. The office is located right on the water and has a covered area with tables where people like to congregate and soak in the views of the bay. Fishing is great in the bay and offers more protection than on the big lake. They have docks for your boat at the resort as well. Great place for families and fishermen alike.

Perfect van camping spot with a view of the lake and access to the Paul Bunyan trail. Staff friendly and welcoming, small swim area, and hot coffee in the morning. 4 MI from town. Highly recommend.

Great location right on the lake. Staff was very friendly and inviting. Also bathroom and shower facilities were decently clean. Campground was nice and groomed. It’s a little bit populated with a major trail that runs through and a good number of cabins around the resort so not exactly a remote destination but I would still recommend it to anyone looking for family fun and activities! Also close driving proximity to downtown Walker.

The best kept secret on Leech Lake. Cabin #6 is beautiful since the remodel. Roomy, bright and as always very clean when we arrive. Staff is wonderful - always there for a good laugh or helpful if needed. I have been going to Woodland since 2007 but other members of the family had been going for many, many years previous-always the same cabin!! Thank you Kelly and Mike for wonderful memories.
