WISP Ski Resort

A very nice ski resort in the DMV area. Multiple chair lifts and multiple carpet lifts with a good amount of room for learning to ski or snowboard. They run lots of schools and have plenty of green runs for beginners. The main resort is the best place to pickup rental gear not the yurts. Also even though you enter height and weight when reserving rentals, they will ask you again for exact measurements. If you have kids write it down and bring with you. It's a pain that their rental gear reservation system doesn't record what they need when you go to pickup the gear. Otherwise it's a great place to go ski or snowboard. Also plan dinner options early because it's a small town and places book up fast or can have long waits.

I've been asked to review, and I already did. Come on Google! Though this place is great. I fell in love with it this year. Great parking, easy ticket pickup, minimal lines, great slopes, attentive staff and lift operators, nice features like the tunnel, and great food options, reasonably priced with DCs. Please stay independent. 🙏

The people at the ticket counter seemed to be bothered that they had to work, the cheeseburger was like a leather puck. I did have a good time skiing because it was a weekday and nobody was there. Just like everything else at deep creek lake you need to avoid this place on the weekends, too busy and filled with seasonal staff who would rather be doing something else with their time.

Tubing. Not well run, or run by lawyers. For 2 hours of tubing, we got 4 runs. Why? They only let a run of tubes go after ALL of the previous run had LEFT the slopes. Not got off the tubing lane, not walking off the slopes, but completely out of the area. Ridiculous. We all kept wondering what the hold up was. A repeat visitor said he had been coming there for four years, never seen this. Unless this improves, will not spend the money to get only 4 runs. Note in my pic all runs are waiting to go for two people below.

I love this place so convenient travel not too far and it’s a good vacation time for weekends.the town is Cozy and there is good supermarket and some good restaurants.there is a small kids amusement place including laser tag ,racing car and game machine for rainy day .A beautiful big lake with a lot of beautiful house and cabins around .this place is combination of mountains.lake with beautiful landscape.I definitely recommend to everyone and family .enjoy .
