Camp Kindred - Deep Creek Vacation Rental (formerly Camp Anawanna)

Had a fantastic time at Camp Kindred for a girls’ weekend retreat! The host was incredibly accommodating and quick to respond. Their welcome guide was super helpful for planning activities- though honestly, we barely needed it because the house had everything we could want. From the games to the hot tub to all the quirky décor in between, we were fully entertained the entire stay. The rooms were spacious, and the little touches, like the plushest towels I’ve ever used, made everything feel extra special. And within the first few hours, we even spotted a group of baby deer wandering by. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the DMV. Highly recommend!

Spent a ladies’ weekend away here and absolutely loved it! The spaciousness was perfect for our group of nine. The amenities are top shelf, and the hosts went out of their way make it a special weekend. Loved the location too. Very quiet and near a huge golf course with ample walking on the paved path. Also near the fun town of Oakland, Deep Creek Lake, and Wisp, a year-round resort for winter skiing and summer fun. Would definitely book here again.

This isn’t your average vacation rental. Camp Kindred is where you go when you want your every need addressed. To feel pampered. Jennie, the host, has literally thought of everything! Little care packages greeted us in our bedroom with the “house rules”, phone/iPhone charges on our nightstands, and a noise machine. Can I tell you how incredible I slept?! The pampering continued into the bathroom with a towel warmer, the softest and most absorbent towels, and slippers. It was a perfect long girls weekend getaway where we escaped the craziness of the DMV to share great food and drink, lots of laughter, bond over stories, games, crafts, puzzles, and build lasting memories. I can totally see this as becoming an annual retreat!

Camp Kindred is truly a special place for a relaxing and restorative weekend getaway. The atmosphere is cozy and immediately makes you feel at home, encouraging everyone to slow down and reconnect (and the egg chair is the perfect place to curl up with a book). Every detail is thoughtfully curated and upscale, making you feel like you’re being spoiled at a resort. A beautiful house that deserves every one of its five stars. We can’t wait to come back!

Camp Kindred is a thoughtfully designed getaway nestled in the mountain. Its location is close to all activities both summer and winter, and at the same time is tucked away where you can get some quiet relaxation. Every nook of the home is cozy. Each themed room is comfortable and sweet; and the great room with open kitchen and long dining table, deck, and fire pit are perfect for coming together. The colors, the record player with a great music collection, stone fireplaces all make it a great place to sit down and recharge and connect after a day of activity. Marshmallows, mountain pies, and conversation can be your nightly ritual. Highly recommend for families, friends and pooches!
