Wingate by Wyndham Macon I-75

We had booked this hotel for a 1 night stay for a longer trip. I had looked at the reviews beforehand and they were good. The day we were to ck in I looked at the reviews again and people were complaining about roaches. I thought oh great, so we get there and had to wait 10mins before someone came to the desk, I was getting ready to call the number. I specifically asked them about the roach issue due to the reviews. He looked shocked and said "We don't have roaches". Ok so that made me feel a little better, we got to our rooms we were all the way at the end of the hall, the last room, my parents were the first room at the front of the hall. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the room smelled strongly of cleaner or room spray. My dad asked for the van key, i went to the door

There was no power to the a/c unit. The front desk offered a fan to resolve it. (Why rent out a room knowing there wasnt power to the a/c?) But I cant sleep with a fan on. Pulled back the covers on bed to find hair. Tried the other bed. Found strands of hair (blonde and brunette), various lengths and toenail clippings. Skipped breakfast due to hotel guests coughing all over food.

Positive: Room was a pleasant surprise. Very clean and up to date. Nice decor. Hotel staff was courteous, helpful, and friendly. Negative: I had a covered load of household items on my pickup. Someone apparently pulled back the tarp to take a look at the contents during the night. Nothing was missing. Informed the hotel staff who made note of the event. Did not ask for any follow up.

After a flight got cancelled and we had to get home, we stopped here for a few hours sleep. Desk is slow but friendly . Room appeared clean and updated , tho mattress had stain when I pulled back the sheet. Bed is comfy , air was not working correctly , and in both rooms woke up to roaches. Not the worst place by far but a few improvements could be made .

The residents in Macon are sweet and helpful. The hotel was clean and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Room are setup nicely with all of the amenities you need to enjoy your stay. Microwave, Refrigerator and Coffee pot.
