Wingate by Wyndham Cincinnati-Blue Ash

3.5 rating|This is the second year we have stopped here in January heading south. Last year everything thing was good except for a poor sleep due to mattresses. This year a little better sleep but still had issues with mattresses. The woman working in the breakfast area was very nice offering assistance and engaging in conversation. Breakfast is satisfactory with options. The room was in good condition. Unfortunately due to 2 poor sleeps we will not be returning.

Not at all what I was expecting for a fancy dance competition’s host hotel. Was somewhat outdated, the room had an overwhelming burnt plastic smell to it, breakfast was subpar (although edible), cleanliness was iffy. The service of the breakfast staff we were around in the morning’s was ok, they were nice and attentive. Overall, we will never stay at this hotel again. And have a bar overall impression of Wyndham hotels as a whole.

Positive: The staff at the breakfast was great! Very accommodating with our early riser children. Kind. Helpful. Kept the area clean. Negative: Not sure the refrigerator was working well. Heard from others we know who stayed there the noise level was bad in the middle of the night.

We stayed Friday and Saturday night and left feeling underwhelmed. The room wasn’t terrible, but it was clearly older and the remodel work felt sloppy. There was peeling paint, grimy baseboards, mismatched door hardware, and bathroom tiles that had been poorly reglazed and were already peeling. The walls also offered very little sound insulation. From inside our room, we could hear guests in neighboring rooms using the bathroom, flushing, and talking in the hallway. We ended up using ambient noise on our phones just to fall asleep. The location was fine, and we didn’t have any issues with road noise. But overall, the experience didn’t justify the stay, and I wouldn’t choose this hotel again.

We have family close by, and this was the closest hotel. Turns out, it is about 20 mins from town also, and we went to the art museum. This is a lot like the old style Holiday Inn, but has the basic self-serve breakfast every day. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is not a full service hotel, so no porter, or help with your stay. But, great for those who want a clean and updated stay for the night. Parking lot, and indoor rooms. Everything is close by like gas and fast marts. You will need to drive to Kenwood for more shopping. Big thanks go to Diane and Dylan who ran the breakfast operation. They were always there early, and helped out with any needs.
