Windjammer Motel

I've stayed at this motel many times since I was a kid. We come back from fishing all day and truly relax. There are kitchenets so you can cook the days catch and what could be better than that!. Stand outside and visit with other fishermen and enjoy a cold beer. The rooms are cleaner than we are and the management has always been great. So bring a cooler of beer, a mellow attitude and a few good fishing stories no matter how long in the tooth they are and enjoy yourself.

This place is dilapidated to say the least. Walls are paper thin, carpeting worn out, beds worn out. Manager lost our reservation, good thing they were empty, or not. WIFI does not work, it's false advertisement as far as I'm concerned. The fish cleaning station is located behind the building conveniently underneath the leaking gutter. The room door looked like it had been kicked open at some point. The beds are worn out. Really I could keep going. The truth is this is not a good place for anyone to stay. Westport has far better accommodations available than this dump. The best thing I can say is that we didn't see rodents running around the place, and the roof did not leak when it rained.

We stay for a week with 5 kids in a kitchenette room. We enjoyed out stay and plan to return! It is in the middle of town. Very affordable and staff was very helpful. As we used a lot of towels bathing 5 children daily! Preparing our own meals really help cut down on cost for the vacation. We enjoyed the large back yard as kids played tether ball and horse shoes. There is also a very nice fire pit.

The new owner Sheri, has made a lot of improvements to the property . Our family booked three rooms. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were clean (except for the corners). Each room was furnished with a fridge, a microwave and a 12cup coffee pot. .||Sheri made us all feel very welcome!. The motel is pet friendly and charges a one time $10 fee for your pet. If you just need a no frills, affordable place to stay, I highly recommend The Windjammer.Currently they only have one room with a King bed, but all three rooms had two beds in them.

As much, as I love staying in hotels and motels, I can't recommend this place. I have stayed in a few really nice places, a lot of good places and a bad, this is one of the few bad. This place looks like it was built in the 1950's and hasn't had a thing done to it since. I called twice before making my reservation, and despite that fact that this place had only a few reviews I decided to take chance on them based on what little I was able to find out about the place. BIG MISTAKE. We arrived on a Friday night at about 6pm, only to find that the manager who had booked our reservation just three days ago had lost our reservation. I was told it wasn't a problem since there was only two other rooms taken. Also we were told that the room had not yet been cleaned, we could put our stuff in
