We arrived and our host Steve was there to meet us. |The inn itself is old but that is the draw to it. It was very cool to enter the house from being out and about and hear era music playing as you enter. It was truly like a trip back in time with all the comforts of home. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels with work and I know a comfortable bed when I feel it and this one was certainly one of the more comfortable beds I have slept in. ||The grounds are spacious and nice for strolling around. We took advantage of the great morning coffee and fresh fresh fresh scones for the mornings. ||They have a nice horseshoe pit on site and our host even offered to loan us his kayak if we wanted. I am not that kayaking guy but the offer was very generous and take a couple minutes to chat with Steve.

The lodging in the Westport area seems to be catered more to the visiting fishermen. Ones we looked at were clean and adequate. Opted for Glenacres, which is a cross of a hotel and a B&B, without the the breakfast. Clean, more than adequate and nicely furnished. We stayed in the cabin (#15) and have very few complaints. TV selection sucked, they subscribed to Direct TV but offered no premiums. Most channels consisted o shopping networks, lots of spanish stations, and some local outlets. They have NFL channel but not espn, not much in children's selections. For very few dollars this could be upgraded and become a much nicer stay. I realize people don't travel and vacation to watch TV, but at the end of the day it is nice to have a choice. Pillows were exceptional but the bed I chos

If you looking for a more down-to-earth experience with a homey feel with individual character, this is a great spot with most of the amenities such as wifi. The bed was very comfortable and nice. All is well kept. The morning scones and coffee are great and we enjoyed talking to the owner about the local economy and development. If you want more of the typical hotel/motel bathroom, the showers in some of the rooms may seem small. Each room appears to be slightly different. We were there for part business with an extended pleasure days.

We have enjoyed staying at the Glenacres place. The owners are incredible and very accommodating. We have watched it transformation throughout the years, and with the addition of the places next to them look forward to seeing the changes. They have started an organic growing space that will be selling in the future organic vegetables or what ever they decide to plant. The slow expansion and their insight is the key to this place. They are well informed about what is happening locally and can guide all who come to various local restaurants. The small town has a wonderful fleet of deep sea fishing charters also. There is a supermarket next to them that is well stocked for what ever your needs may be. This has been closed for a year and now is under new management. We stayed in the cottage w

Our family of 4 stayed in a cabin, which has characters, lots of discovery and entertainment within, meticulously kept. Convenient location to a local grocery store and an icecream shop. We were comfortable and had a wonderful relaxing stay. Steve, the host, was knowledgeable of local places to shop, eat, and hike. The scones were out of this world. A must-have. Another bonus about stopping at the lobby for some scones before heading out is meeting the guests. Each morning we were there, we had enjoyable chats with people we've never met. Perhaps the place attracts that kind of guests. Everywhere we looked, there was a story to tell and waiting to be told. The place is full of characters and history. This beats the five-star Hyatt hotels and the like, definitely.
