Williamsburg Woodlands Hotel & Suites, an official Colonial Williamsburg Hotel

We chose this hotel because it appeared to have good ratings, had a good rate and was walkable to the colonial area. We would not return and rather pay more to stay at a nicer hotel to receive cleaner and more comfortable rooms. We found a huge roach in our bathroom the second night of our stay and then requested to move rooms. They did accommodate our move, which was great. The bed sheets are like paper and the beds are small. The pillows were queen size on what’s supposed to be a king bed. There were also bugs in the hallway and overall the hotel did not feel clean. The phone in the room did not work and the wifi was spotty and mostly didn’t stay connected. Although this room has a great location, i recommend paying for that higher value hotel so you can get a good sleep and feel clean

A wonderful hotel with very clean rooms. The morning breakfast staff are so nice and professional, as well as the beautiful staff who keep the rooms spotless. The front desk staff are amazing, too. We've stayed here twice and felt so at home. Their lobby was beautiful at Christmas.

I booked a room for 5 people and was only given 2 queen beds but felt like full beds. I was told I would be charged extra for a roll away bed but I don't really see how if I booked for 5 how 2 queen beds would be good enough. I did not make it a big deal b/c I had family with another room and we put 1 kid in there which worked out fine otherwise we would not have fit. I was SOOOO thankful they had gluten free options during breakfast (YAY!!!) I will say for gluten free or regular the food was carb heavy and not what I would consider continental which is what was advertised. Room and grounds were clean!

We had reservations for a conference at the Williamsburg Lodge, where we were told in the most unprofessional way that our reservation had been transferred to Williamsburg Woodlands - not close to the conference we needed to attend. The staff at Williamsburg Woodlands had a tough job, with so many unhappy travelers from across the state coming into town only to get the same news as us. They handled it VERY professionally and compassionately. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but it was extremely clean and comfortable. The lobby was a great place for me to set up and work when I needed to. I was delighted to discover a walking trail into the historic district - very accessible and quiet. Their sister hotel did them no favors, but the staff shone in spite of it.

Positive: The staff were very friendly and the location was close to Williamsburg historic area. You can walk over ( about 10 mins but it?s a nice walk) or get the shuttle as the visitors center is right there at the hotel. Negative: ""
