I really wanted to like this place. We dined at the restaurant. The menu and food preparation was pedestrian. We had the filet mignon. The sauce was loaded with vinegar. Yuch!! Not what you want with a red wine. I’ve had salad dressings with less vinegar and don’t drink red wine with my salads. And speaking of the wines, their markup is extraordinary. I’ll accept a 100% markup which is standard these days in most restaurants. Their markup was 400%. $40 wines were $160. OK so we want wine with dinner. We found 1 and only 1 wine at a 300% markup. We ordered it and out came the wine glasses. If you charge that amount for wine I want a decent wine glass. Nada. Asked for better and our poor staff person said they’ll check the basement. Out came glasses that made the original choice superb.

I’ve been staying at the Williamsburg Inn for years and it’s always been special. The staff are exceptional and rooms are lovely. But now they’ve changed the toiletries from Penhaligan, which were a special part of the experience, to their own in-house toiletries line. |Not so special anymore!!! |Bring back Penhaligon toiletries and make it special again.

My wife and I have greatly enjoyed the Inn multiple times per year for several years. A lot of great points made by many reviews that we would agree with completely. However, a key amenity that was a routine part of our overall experience was breakfast served in our room. It was a fantastic breakfast to start the day off right. Without notice, the Inn stopped all room service in the fall of 2025. Due to health concerns, we do not dine in indoor resturants. The sudden loss of an expected service created some challenge for us. The GM informed us in October that something was going to be rolled out "soon" to replace the in-room dining service. Trusting the General Manager (Ms. Rodriguez), we returned for an end of December visit which revealed that the Inn still has no room service.

We did not stay at the inn but at one of the properties they manage on the main street of the reconstructed Colonial Williamsburg. The location was great. The rooms were alright. Thankfully, not an attempt at an authentic bedroom. The beds were comfortable, the blankets scarce and the hot water uneven. The maintenance was not especially great but housekeeping did a good job and the room was clean. The maids ignored my do not disturb sign and there is no safe in the room. The Inn itself is beautiful and we had breakfast there twice. The food was very good and the service was wonderful. Definitely 5 stars there. We learned that arranging our tickets for events and sights in town through the hotel.was the best option for guests.

Came for the grand illumination - which was magical. Only stayed at the Inn for convenience. They offered little welcoming service or help with dining reservations & activities. If you wait til you get there, it’s too late. Don’t eat at the restaurant. Still recovering from food poisoning there. No follow up as of yet. Not surprised - we came here with our family a few years ago for Thanksgiving & waited two hours for our dinner reservation - still waiting for that follow up - ha. Rooms were nice but be prepared for a ridiculously long walk to your room. Stay here for convenience not the service you would expect.
