Wildwood Lodge Clive

We planned to stay one night and ended up staying three! The staff were the nicest people I have met in a long time!! Renee' & Jen were total rockstars when it comes to hospitality & genuine kindness, as were the rest of the staff. Everyone who works there The place is absolutely stunning with the rustic look. There's a big fireplace in the main lobby, tables & lamps made from trees. There's an indoor pool with jacuzzi & some rooms that go straight out to the pool! They have a beautiful fire pit out front that they turned on for us during the day to keep us warm. Jen brought out a comfortable chair for my husband to sit on because he was in a boot cast & a cane. Renee' set us up with a fabulous ADA accessible room with a roll in shower on the first floor. Wildwood Lodge is truly a wonderful hotel! It has character instead of feeling like a cookie cutter. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. My husband and I checked in after a long drive and then took a nap before meeting friends that night. When the heater kicked on it made an insanely loud noise that we knew we wouldn’t be able to sleep through. The staff quickly moved us to a different room and explained that it was early in the season and that’s when they discover which heaters need work. Please do not take the loud heater as a negative, it wasn’t at all because it wasn’t loud in the new room. I was impressed by how accommodating the staff was and will never stay anywhere but here anytime we travel to Iowa.

Really enjoyed our stay. Real wood and stone features and 30 year old spruce trees outside the window make it feels very natural & woodsy. Fragrance free rooms and no mildew smell is very important to me and these rooms were nice and fresh. Comfy beds and pillows. Cold mini fridge. Breakfast and pool were nice. Only complaint is getting locked out of our room 2 of the 3 nights and having to get new keys. Otherwise a great stay. Enjoy seeing the pets as they're pet friendly.

What a great hidden gem. Price was great, less than $100 (off season on a Sunday). Beautiful north woods themed. The pool was nice and the hot tub was perfect temp abs the bubbles worked. The lady at the desk was great and very accommodating. The bed, pillows and shower were all great. One of the best hotel experiences I have had.
