Long drive down a very bumpy road to a primitive campground that is short of services, but big on scenery and access. Pit toilet on site that is relatively clean and a playground of rocks to play upon. Tables and fire rings at each site. Sites are spaced apart, but there is really no privacy to speak of, but once the sun goes down you are only looking up at those stars anyway. This is a real hidden gem of a campsite, go check it out!

I did the hike in a morning of the start of june. At this time is plenty of shadow around the canyon. You have to pass the creek often and sometimes there is a good chance to become wet feet. On my way back I just took of my shoes and the mud felt really nice and the way is really sandy so its not that big deal to walk without shoes.

The campground is just a short 2 mile, well maintained dirt road. The sites can't be reserved in advance. It's first come, first served with a kiosk to pay. It has two pit toilets, and no water.

Absolutely gorgeous views of smooth rocks. You can hike on/around them. Rocks are very fragile so please do care for minimal destruction.12 dollars a night. Spotty cell reception, walking around (especially on top of those rock domes) would give you better reception at times. You can pay on your phone or there's a credit card paying machine that would print you a physical (plastic)paper.

One of the best hikes on our vacation. My 8 and 10 year old boys loved it. You will absolutely get wet!!! We went in March and actually walked 6.5 miles barefoot. They loved every second and I practically had to drag then back to the car. They kept asking for 5 more minutes. Many places to stop and explore. Not overly crowded. Took my dog, and she loved it. Everyone we meet in the trail that day was very friendly :-)
