Westover Arms Hotel

Positives: Big open room. Large refrigerator with ice maker (water dispenser broken unfortunately). Front desk answers the phone most of the time (but they do not call you back if you leave a message). They went from 2 to 3 stars for printing our cruise luggage tags for us. Negatives: lots of single paned windows with cheap 1” miniblinds that do not block light or dampen sound. Curtains really aren’t that expensive and if you got thick curtains, it would block out the ridiculous amount of honking and noise. It would also keep me from being awakened in an incredibly bright room as soon as the sun comes up. This may not be as problematic on rear facing rooms, but we were third floor facing street, Very loud. Don’t believe that you’ll be able to watch TV in the room. I know you don’t co

Positive: Clean, spacious room with full kitchen. Quiet despite being on 3rd floor. Really great value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. The lobby is bright and was a pleasant place to work after I checked out. Negative: Would have been nice to provide a coffee sachet or two in the room.

The hotel was booked through an accommodation platform, but upon arrival, we were presented with a bill that was over $60 higher than our reservation price. The hotel staff refused to discuss this issue, and I had to pay the full amount and file a complaint later (which wasn't easy). Although we eventually got the price difference refunded, it was an unnecessary hassle. The hotel also arranged a taxi to the port for us, charging an outrageous $95. The hallways smelled of fish, and the room's soundproofing was terrible. Never again.||The review highlights several major issues:|1. Pricing discrepancy and poor customer service|2. Avoid at all costs. Unprofessional female receptionist. She came screaming into my room snapping fingers and creating a huge scandal at check out even though the hotel was empty. I thought check out was at 12 instead of 11. Horrible service, she said “who do you think you are” and called the POLICE. The police came and were shocked by the receptionist. She is an angry woman who shouldn’t work at a hotel. I will try to sue the hotel.

Great hotel, great location. The full kitchen in the room was great. The fridge even had an ice maker!! Room also had a washer and dryer.
