Westmark Fairbanks Hotel & Conference Center

I stayed at the Westmark with my family during the winter, and it was a great decision. The hotel offers comfortable accommodations, good food, a bar, and an excellent location in the center of Fairbanks. What stood out the most was the staff. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, understanding, and provided excellent customer service. At the time of our stay, the hotel was undergoing renovations, but the rooms and common areas were still comfortable and met all our needs. I also accidentally booked a room with one bed instead of two. The staff was very understanding, checked availability, and moved us to the correct room the next morning, which I truly appreciated. If I return to Fairbanks, I would definitely stay here again.

After several visits over the winter months, I only stay here as required by my business. Wifi rarely works and when it does it is slow and spotty. T.V. is useles and freezes up. This last time my remote wouldn't operate, t.v. froze and wouldn't shut down. Maintenance was too busy to assist and the front desk could only apologize and had no other rooms. The breakfast is an overpriced buffet. Main restaurant is "meh" although the fries are superb. Shop in lobby has been closed for months due to "Maintenance." Not allow good place to stay for a business man. it's just a place to sleep if you are spending little time in your room. I'm presently waiting to get the t v. up and running and will probably unplug it to get the screen shut off.

I do not recommend saying at this hotel. The price is cheaper than others for a reason. You aren’t going to be getting the experience a hotel should be offering. No free breakfast when my reservation said otherwise and the front desk later stated they changed their breakfast fees in may 2025 but wasn’t listed in the website I booked off. Still didn’t offer to help in anyway. $25 for basic hotel breakfast wasn’t worth it. Heater didn’t work in our room and took 1 hour for them to come look at it and just brought a little plug in heater and called it good. Shortly after our power went out and had to call maintenance again. Didn’t offer a late checkout either. Also vending machine didn’t work to get water or drinks.

Positive: The lobby was nice, I only saw 2 staff at front desk. Negative: They gave me a handicap room, the pillows were stained with either blood ir make up. We took pictures. There was a hair on another pillow. We checked out 1 day early.

Our stay at the Westmark in Fairbanks was very comfortable and very conveniently located near the airport and central location in the Fairbanks area. The staff was very professional and polite as they accommodated us for a last minute flight change free of charge. We ate at the happy husky and the food was amazing and decently priced for the quality of food. Only thing is that i wish the room had a microwave but aside from that it was ana amazing stay. We would definately stay here again.
