Westgate Inn

My partner and I's room was a bit of a wreck, with parts of the bed headboard broken and the curtains had large holes in them, but overall that wasn't very bothersome. Things were mostly clean, though there was a layer of cat hair on a few of the sheets and a few weird towel stains. But no bugs, no weird smells, and the bathroom was otherwise clean. The water was hot and the heat worked just fine. Just seems a bit of a hole in the wall, mildly run down place, which makes sense for the region. The staff were all very pleasant and the main lobby/building had a shockingly-nice interior. There was supposedly a cat but I never got to see it, sadly, it was never around when I was haha. Overall I had a pleasant visit.

Quiet and clean. The rooms are dated but felt like home and everything was functional and clean. The bed was better than most hotels I've stayed at. The living room is cozy and had a two shelf library and a few games. Outside was a huge lawn and a picnic area, including grilled and a covered patio. The local cat is very friendly and does hang out inside. Will stay here again, just call and book the room, it's cheaper than online. Also expect breakfast to be limited to mostly prepackaged takeaways, but the coffee is good and oatmeal was all I needed.

Positives: easy, 24 hr check-in, location was great and it seemed pretty clean. Negatives: extremely outdated, stains on carpets and commode, felt like an old mattress on the bed, had missing ceiling panels in the hallway and a plastic bucket in the middle of floor I guess collecting water from a leak? Also only 3 pillows on the king bed. The breakfast is nothing but prepackaged foods. Could def use a little TLC and just making the effort to include a 4th pillow on the bed would go a long way.

Rated as a 2 star hotel, but other than the slightly dated interior in our room, which was located in what looks to be former offices in a building across the yard, everything was clean and well maintained, including the grounds. Breakfast was primarily packaged items, but the coffee was good. I would stay here again if I find myself in the area.

This is our second time staying here. This time, we stayed one night to go star gazing at Cherry Springs. Check in closes at 11PM so make sure you arrive prior. Kyle, the manager, was super friendly as were the rest of the staff we encountered. The bed was super comfortable and the room was clean. We will be back!
