Big Oaks Inn

Curtis was over the top accommodating and generous. We were just looking for a place to land after working every day in the area and it fits the bill. Working out of town is tough enough. There were clean towels every evening, the fridge was plenty big to store our food and lunches, and the microwave works!!! Lots of water pressure in the shower.

I have a lot to say...both good and some areas for improvement. I've stayed before under the old owner and I had a great experience then...less so this time. First of all; no bedbugs...and I check very carefully. Second, they are pet friendly and praise God for that! They need to rip out the carpets and replace them they are hideous and stained with cigarette spots. This was my chief complaint...I'm pretty sure they routinely allow smoking in the rooms now...I saw no signs saying to smoke outside and I found the smell in the room between that and the older building smell, it really set off my allergies. We stayed for 2 days. Wonderful rooms. VERY clean, nice sized, awesome shower! Dollar general across the street for anything you forgot! In room coffee was a bonus!! Would stay again any day!! 2nd stay. Clean, decent coffee. I will say I brought my own pillow (but I always do!) So I slept great.

This place is a little gem. Curtis was wonderful to coordinate with for our stay. They are pet friendly and have fire pits out back that you can utilize. The room we had wasn’t extravagant but extremely clean. All the necessities you need. Would definitely stay there again. Pricing is very reasonable as well!

Big Oaks Motel is a perfectly lovely, simple motel. The room is basic, but perfectly clean, comfortable, and had most of the standard needs covered. There’s no conditioner or hairdryer, but soap, shampoo, and coffee are all provided. We were in Room 12. The beds were comfy enough. The table is a good size and has two chairs. I’m a very large woman (size 28W), so I did not find the chairs comfortable, but they were fine for the rest of my family. As mentioned in another review, the water pressure is awesome! Curtis had excellent communication and always responded promptly. The motel is close to town and an easy 20 min drive to the Cherry Springs Dark Sky Park. If all you need is a comfortable place to crash while you explore the area, this will be a great room for you.
