Westerly Motel

Booked on Expedia for Queen Deluxe with kitchen. Owner lied about our room being unavailable saying that there was a crime scene and blood everywhere and downgraded us, leaving us without a kitchen which we specifically needed for our stay. Owner downgraded us and did not tell us this until we signed the paperwork. That's when we realized he moved us to the smaller hotel rooms in an entirely different building. Took 15 mins to check us in, likely changing rooms. Says he can't help us but has a king unit available online. Won't upgrade us or let us cover the remaining cost to upgrade. Called police and learned that there was NO crime that happened there. So owner full on lied. When confronting him another couple was there trying to get their money back because the owner double charged them

First thing was we had to check-in at an entirely different hotel which was not expected at all. Second, within minutes of looking at the room the shower curtain slammed onto the floor before we even entered the bathroom and when I picked it up it was soaking wet. The coffee maker not only already had old water in it but was cracked all over the place. The paper cups were stuck together as if they were stacked wet. The couch cushions were very stained, the blanket on the bed was MAJORLY stained and actually moist with holes. The towels in the bathroom and kitchen were already wet and some stained. The windows in the bedroom and bathroom were open upon arrival, and the bedroom had a hole in the wall from the door knob. There was no air conditioning or ability to adjust the thermostat to a c

We slept so sound! The beds and pillows were great. The room was small but well equipped, Microwave, stovetop, oven. All the kitchenware you would need to make a nice meal. Our dogs were happy. Quiet, the owner was a lovely elderly woman but still a bit of a ripper. She made me laugh. The house keeper was very nice and our room was very clean. I wish we had more time it would have been perfect for some clamming and fixing a meal of them there. Wi-Fi was FAST!

Very unimpressed with this property. I should have minded previous reviews more regarding the smell of mold in the rooms. We were assigned room 6, and we were only in the room for 5 minutes before we left because of a strong mold smell. The bathroom was dirty with visible mold spores on the ceiling above the toilet and shower, and the pull-out couch was just a dilapidated foam top covered in hair, dirt and cigarette burns. Check in was at the nearby Days Inn, which was frustratingly slow. We did not feel safe or comfortable in such conditions and did not stay, to which the property refused to refund us. Would not recommend, not even for those on a tight budget.

A lot of flies no fan, a rip off at over two hundred dollars. I've stayed at Days Inn which owns this dive with no problems. If I wasn't hurting so bad I would have just went home. I'm a 78 year old disabled Vietnam Veteran and feel like I was completely ripped off. Thank you
