Wayne & Dottie's Cabins

We stayed in Cabin 5, and we absolutely love it here. There are 4 beds, a kitchenette, and tv. Micki and I are originally from Huntington, and love coming back home every chance we get. If you are looking for pretentious, you are not going to find it anywhere in our little home town. Genuinely great people, providing great services. I highly recommend staying in cabins, as well as fueling\shopping down the street.

There are 7 units, not 8 and we stayed in unit #7. The best thing I can say about our stay is that the beds were comfy... Room was semi-clean and they were "kind" enough to leave items about the place so we could clean some more if we wanted -- but no dish soap to wash used dishes! At best, this was a $45 a night room, not $70!!!||||• Neglected to say they wanted cash for room, had to go to ATM. Then they were surprised I wanted a receipt... Had to wait for them to go home and get one for me.||||• Mystery cleaning rag was hanging from the shower bar, yuck. There were some dishes to use, but no dish soap to wash dishes with -- which leads you to wonder if people just rinsed cups and put back in cupboard...||||• We had to plunge the toilet after every use just to get the smallest amount of t

This is a great place to stay for a short visit while Cat fishing or hunting. It's quiet and cozy. No frills, not much to do other than hunting or fishing. There is a liquor store, bait and tackle store and a country store, marijuana shop and lots of DIRT . I wouldn't recommend staying during August it's HOT as HELL over there ! The Motel Manager Debbie ( I believ e was her name ) was really super sweet and helpful, though not present most of my stay. She did leave a number to reach her at as she lives "around the corner ". Rustic and vintage. Soft beds and sad old bedding. Everything is broken or worn out. We did get the TV to work finally, finicky and non-working remote. No wifi. If it had been $45 not $90 it would be expected. TOO BAD-- so much potential.

My son and I arrived at about 10 pm for an overnight stay. This family business is set up to receive guests at a much earlier hour, but fortunately a woman tending the bar next door knew the staff at Wayne and Dottie's, and was able to get a hold of them for us. A gentleman named Mike responded, and showed us into a whole house, which we were able to rent for the night at the regular one-room rate! The house was clean, pleasant, and had all the amenities in place. We wound up having a most pleasant time!
