Waterside Hotel

RUN!!! In February 2026, I stayed at Waterside Hotel in Surfside, and unfortunately the experience fell far short of expectations. We only booked it because there was no availability elsewhere, but honestly, we wanted to leave from day one. The only real highlight was the location. It’s excellent and makes it easy to get around the area and greater Miami. Other than that, there was very little positive to say about our stay. As soon as we walked into the room, we were hit with a strong, persistent musty smell. On top of that, the sheets were dirty — completely unacceptable for any hotel. The odor wasn’t temporary either; it lingered throughout our entire stay and made the room feel uncomfortable the whole time. I had a good time there. The room had a nicer smell than manny places in Miami. But as others say, bedsheet is kind of dirty, better don’t looks to there exactly. Worst is resort fee. Thx to Trip they helped me. You see the price and in the end it’s half of it more , because of „resort fee“. I think they know before you stay in the resort so the fee for maybe the pool o never went, can be included in the price. Second worst is threat there is disclaimed a kitchen and there is just NOTHING about it 😅😅 but room had good smell, kind people who do good service , they clean the room. So not that horrible as some people say.

This accommodation was nice, the staff was not really talkative but not rude. When you arrive you should expect more walking to your apartment because the other rooms are a few blocks away from reception, for us that was a bit problematic since we had two heavy bags so it was a bit exhausting since we were really tired. Other then that rooms are really clean and tidy, there is everything you need and its really comfortable. Neighborhood is quiet and private we really enjoyed that. There was also a 100$ deposit that is not mentioned on the booking form, but that was not really a problem just a reminder for others to be prepared. Overall really nice stay i definitely recommend.

The “24 hour front desk” is not on the property we were assigned. We arrived at the address on the reservation, had to walk 10 minutes to the location of the “front desk”. Upon return to my companion, we then had to walk, with luggage, another 3/4 mile to our assigned room. The room we reserved was 2 queen beds, the room we got was one queen and a futon with an extra blanket. All phone calls went to voicemail. I NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. Saw no employees the entire 4 days. The free happy hour was at another location (included in the $30 per day resort fee). Room safe didn’t work. Bed wasn’t all that great. Never again.

Pool was closed the whole time I was there. No compensation for it. Room was dirty had to go buy cleaners and clean it. I don’t think they even sweep mop the floors. The guy who sprays and cleans the walkway was rude. Splashed dirty water on me with his broom. When I asked him what happened to my towel and water shoes that was outside my door. He Then screamed go to office. They did not know what happened to it. Finally they found it. One of the workers took it and bagged it up locked in the container outside for some strange reason.
