Water Street Inn of Stillwater

First time guests. All staff was great. Charlies for drinks Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. Layer if you are there in winter as common areas are chilly i am sure due to age of hotel. Charming nooks and crannies but overall the rooms need updating. Icky stained carpet and weird layouts are not worth the $300 price tag nightly. Bar appeared to have overserved a guest Friday and charged me $1.50 surcharge for decaf coffee. Would not go back for a repeat performance for sure. Too bad as the location is stellar on the river. Food was average so i can’t imagine the special event food would be any better.

We spent the night at the Water Street Inn and the hotel is wonderful. Old building but kept up very well and the room was beautiful and a comfortable bed. However, we purchased a dinner/breakfast package which was not so good. The dinner appetizer, shrimp, was excellent and the salad was fresh. We all had the steak, because we had it there previously and it was excellent. This time was different, the meat hardly had any flavor and my sister-in-law had one that was most fat than meat. We mentioned it to the waiter and he told the chef and they took our drinks off the bill. The package for the two of us was not cheap and we all felt that the meal wasn’t worth what we paid. In addition, at the end they gave us a bill for tax and a mandatory 20 percent gratuity . That was not mention

Positive: We have stayed at the Waterstreet several times, we love it. Historic, great location. Negative: The only thing we would have changed was our mattress, comfortable but too soft.

We booked a room at the Water Street Inn to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We’re both history and architectural building buffs so the history of the Inn appealed to us. We were placed in room 203. Excited about the partial river view described in the room description we were disappointed to be overlooking a parking lot. The alley was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Cue loud Christmas music which is lovely for a bit. It played from 5:00 - 10:00 the entirety of our visit. Louder than the tv in the room which we could get to work some of the time. Next cue the snow removal crew that showed up at 4:30 am most mornings to clear the parking lot. Hard enough sleeping on the very hard beds but then add in the extra noise. Not to mention room 203 is also above Charlie’s w

The location of this hotel is great! The biggest disappointment was the cleanliness and upkeep of basic things in the room. The bathroom shower door had hard water stains as did the shower head that prevented it from spraying as it should. There was dust in the corners of the room and a film on top of the bathroom counter. The tv remote didn’t work and the hair dryer plug would not stay in the wall. The hallways to our room also smelled of cigarette smoke, which was concerning. Overall, a lot to be desired that could easily be addressed.
