Built in 1927, the Lowell Inn is an historic landmark located in downtown Stillwater, MN just steps away from the scenic St. Croix river which forms the border between Minnesota and Wisconsin. This property is a must do destination especially during the picturesque summer and fall seasons, not necessarily for the vintage 1927 guest rooms but, rather instead to experience their fine dining and culinary offerings carefully crafted by a talented and experienced kitchen crew. We attended their annual Christmas Day Buffet and were very pleasantly surprised. For a modest price, the buffet, while limited, served up a well-rounded selection of entrees, salads, fruits, and deserts. Each and every item was fresh and delicious, especially the Swedish meatballs and the Polish kielbasa sausage, 5 s
Had the tea today. Loved the lobby & dining space- historic and beautiful. Reminds me so much of The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island. The tea was lovely and so incredibly enjoyable with excellent service. Considering the price point, am very happy with our tea experience. Loved the Lowell!
We visited Lowell Inn for a special event. This place is so beautiful! They hosted an amazing evening for the event. The parking was convenient and the ramp connects to the hotel. It was bitterly cold so we appreciated the convenience. Will definitely be going back to experience the rooms and restaurant.
This was my first visit to The Lowell Inn. I did not stay at the hotel, but came for the breakfast service. First, it's a beautiful historic building. Second, the service was excellent. And finally, the food was great! I had the Sawyer Omelet, which was filled with wonderful vegetables and mushrooms, with a gruyere bechamel sauce. It was very good! I chose the breakfast potatoes which were also a hit, and sour dough toast. The only glitch was the coffee. The taste was very good, but it was warm, not hot, which for some may not matter, but I prefer it hot. Overall 5 stars. I would definitely recommend a visit to The Lowell Inn.
We went here for the afternoon tea on a cozy winter weekday. The place had a festive feel and the staff were genuinely nice and accommodating. Our server Harper was great! We enjoyed the four courses. The kids were served hot chocolate in lieu of the tea. It was nice to see that the place was packed on a weekday! For the price, it's worth the visit from the twin cities.
