Believe it's worth mentioning that This Motel in Ela NC IS NOT OPEN FOR BUSINESS How get it looks like renovations are under way I give it 5 Stars because years ago when it was open It offered every posible adminnety one might expect from a Motel in The Smoky Mountain Area and had the most elaborate welcoming sign in Western North Carolina at the time.So maybe they get this rather large number of rooms Motel reopened its truly iconic

This is a THRIFT STORE/CONSIGNMENT STORE! The inside smells like mothballs very badly! They have a lot of things you would want to buy and a lot of things you would NEVER EVER BUY! They expect you to pay high dollar for both! 28$ for a child's toy they say is new but if it was new it would be in the box! Or 100$ for a sofa that I've seen sit outside for months she told me just needs a new cover hahaha! It needs be thrown away! I've tried a couple time negotiating and they stay with the high price it's marked or they suggest! They just keep piling it up bc everything they have is over 10$ If they sold everything for 5$ or less they would be millionaires and could fix the nice cool motel! Your excited when you get there and disappointed when you leave!

The motel is closed and abandoned, but still very cool to see! A very cool little roadside attraction to stop and see briefly on any trip through the area. While the motel is closed, it did look like they sell things, but as it was evening when we arrived, that too was closed. However, it was still very cool to see this old abandoned motel. Loved it and wish it was still open. I'd love to buy this place!

This is not a motel anymore it is a friend of mines thrift store. Lots and lots of different items old to new. Check it out if u r ever in the smokies
