Venice Beach Hostel

The hostel itself was amazing… as I am brand new to that experience! I rented a private room. It was clean and had a bathroom and even a mini kitchen. The problem that I had was for my safety. I left the building at approximately 11:45 PM and was locked out as the system did not work. The staff member luckily was still working and let me back in and told me that that happens frequently in the middle of the night and other paying guest had to sleep on the beach because there was no staff member working between the hours of 2 AM and 8 AM. He told me because the owner was 80 years old and the manager was not willing to fix the system because it was old I said really I was scared. It was the middle of the night. The hostel was a 2 minute walk to the beach. Our room and bathroom was clean. The common area and the kitchen was not very clean, but I didn't ind because there was SO much travellers from around the globe that had all interesting things to say!! The hostel staff was a bit rude, like they were forced to be there but other than that, I love it.||||Would not recommend staying in the streets at night because there is a lot of drugs use.

I love everything about this hotel nice and clean clothes to the beach. And everyone there was so nice I met a guy named Paul. He's an amazing person that deserves so much. He was so kind. I will be back

Stayed there in 2004. Remember the old man sitting by all the survaillance cameras, gave the key to my private room cause I had internet access there. Without asking. Other than that it was a great stay. I got a ride to the airport by a black dude in leather jacket, chainsmoking and introduced me to Journey the band.

I am not usually one to write negative reviews, but this place was unacceptable for me. I do not recommend this hostel. Terrible customer service. When I got to my assigned room, I noticed there was no A/C or windows to outside, so I simply told the front desk lady (manager) that I was uncomfortable and could not sleep there that night. Instead of showing empathy or at least being a nice person, she immediately went to the room and asked everyone else if they were fine and they said yes. I understand that they were "fine" but I wasn't and she had no consideration for my situation. The hostel was fully booked up which was understandable so I was lucky to switch hostels. If you care about customer service or quality of rooms, this is NOT the place for you. In addition, there is a club atta
