Tygart Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Great moderate price place with character. The location is downtown Elkins. It is also close to Davis+Elkins College. The building has served as a hotel for 106 years. Although remodeled, you can still see some of the old wood moldings The room was good. Long and thin. The view of the town was good. Room appointments included a fainting couch a 2x5 desk which could double as a dining table for 4, microwave and mini fridge. We had a generous shower but no bath. Service was friendly. The reception desk also sold sodas and a few c-store items. There were also some local tourist brochures. The breakfast buffet chad good Continental items and a few hot items. The hotel contains a pretty good bar and restaurant which appears to operate separately.

We were very pleasantly surprised when we entered the lobby to check in. It is beautifully done and the bar area looks very "top shelf". The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to be able to stay in Elkins and not have to travel back and forth from Buchannon from the nearest pet friendly hotel while visiting relatives that live in Elkins. We will definitely stay again every time we come to town. Maybe next time we will be able to take advantage of the breakfast. It looked amazing and delicious but we went out to a couple of local places for breakfast instead. Can't wait til next time. Thank you. Oh and the few Christmas decorations that were going up when we left were gorgeous.

I absolutely love this local hotel- it was really beautiful renovated, it was clean which is a huge thing for me.... I loved the views from the 6th floor.... the decor was beautiful and really nice to look at.... staff was really nice and friendly ☺️ I highly recommend checking them out and staying with them!! I can't wait to go back and stay here!!

I traveled to Elkins to be near Davis. Elkins sadly has zero to offer and is desperately depressing. But like a star in the dark night lighting the way was this hotel. The hotel that has no reason to be in a place like Elkins. The hotel was clean. The rooms were very nice. The staff were amazing. Had the worst steak of my life in the restaurant but I think it was a fluke as the rest of the food was great. The cost was extremely reasonable and I would have paid 35% more than paid. Then in my second day I was called away suddenly at 3pm and the hotel without blinking allowed me to cancel. An amazing hotel at a level that the rest of the town needs to rise to. Very pleased!

We drove here from the DMV to stay one night before skiing at Timberline Mountain. The hotel was a comfortable stay and very affordable. We sat at the hotel bar and ate a tasty dinner. All roads were cleared from ice and snow which made the drive very easy. The front desk offers lift tickets for $79 if you are looking to ski.
