Tyee Restaurant and Hotel

The karaoke on Saturday's is great and the bartender is the sweetest. The restaurant is not so great. We came in on a Saturday around 3pm. It wasn't too busy inside the restaurant. We were greeted and told to seat ourselves. Out drink orders were taken almost immediately which we appreciated. We sat and waited for a while to order. None of the wait staff even looked our way. We waited some more. A waitress walked by us holding a broom and dustpan. We asked her if we could order. She was immediately flustered and rude, stated she was "off the clock" and then said "fine I'll take your order." She dropped the dustpan on the floor and went to get a pen and pad of paper. I returned to the island after many years and was pleasantly surprised to find the motel updated and under new ownership. The breakfast was so good, place is timeless with a great atmosphere for me and my family, kids enjoyed blueberry pancakes and the owner gave them extra whipped cream! ||||My wife and I had a great night out with fish n chips, cocktails and pool! ||||Don’t follow the road signs, turn left off Coupeville ferry to experience this gem.

Restaurant food is good, standard fare but served with a smile and a great attitude that makes is fabulous. Beds are probably as old as the motel itself. Creeky and loud. My husband slept well so that's a plus. Dog friendly and really affordable. Walking distance of a lot of stuff

Never stayed at the Tyee hotel but I’ve had lunch at the Tyee Restaurant a few times and always felt like I had a good home cooked kind of meal at a very reasonable price. The dining room atmosphere has a strong mid-twentieth century diner vibe. Location is fine in an out of the tourist traffic way. No Puget Sound or Cascade mountain views that Whidbey is famous for but you can always do take-out and have a picnic at Camp Casey Lighthouse park. Overall, I think it’s one of Coupeville’s best kept secrets.

Amazing Food & Beyond Amazing Staff. Everything is cooked beautifully. They really make you feel at home. and if you have any room left I highly recommend the pies.
