Good basic county campground setup. I didn't stay, but walked around to check it out for future use. Many campsites have grills. The previous season's sign said $15/night and 7 nights in a 30 day period are allowed.

Sweet campground / nice feel. Plenty of spots on Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. And only $15! Luckily no planes, so nice and quiet. But in the morning when the animal shelter that's located at the entrance opened, could hear barking dogs. Plenty of bathrooms / Porto potties. Great trees and spaces well spaced with lots of greenery between sites.

The lower rating is not for the campground itself which all said is a nice small well maintained one. The close flying military jets make for a different and not great outdoor forest camping experience if they happen to be training. The night I was there they started around sunset and went almost continuously till ~10:30pm. I actually wore ear plugs to cook at camp. Why is it so loud here? I spoke to a local and the training runway used to practice touch and go exercises is very close by. If they aren’t using it the campground would be pretty quiet but if they are flying bring some good ear plugs. I stayed one night, then went elsewhere.

This place could get zero stars… We swung in about 10:30am Friday mid June 2024 looking for a spot to camp. Several sites open, so we thought, why not. Moments later military jets flew right over the tops of the trees. The sound was so deafening that our ears were ringing moments later. We left the area promptly! I had read about this problem by other visitors. Now I can verify the jet noise. If you stay here, bring the best hearing protection you can find!!!

Very nice campground. Only $15 per night and less crowded than government campgrounds. Also a great sized area for each tent/ van. When you enter it says “campground closed” but don’t let that fool you from entering. There were many free spaces.
