Twin Pines at NEOC

Our daghter was married at NEOC on August 12th. The immediate families stayed at two of the lodge. The lodges were great and suited our needs very well. The beauty of the lake and Mount Katahdin in the background is unmatchable. With this being said, I write today to express how "unbelievably" happy all of us were with the staff at NEOC and at the River Driver's Restaurant. We have been fortunate to have traveled to many destinations across the country and I can say that we have never been treated any better than here. We had our wedding dinner at River Driver's Restaurant and Page was the best waitress and the food was absolutely delicious. I have never been around more nicer, courteous and helpful people. This is one of my favorite places on earth. I brought some people up here during mud season and it is still beautiful even in the most unappealing time of year. The views, the solitude, accomodations and staff, it's just an unbelievable top notch place to spend time in Northern Maine. Still awesome, even more so in the fall

My wife and I stayed 2 nights (second week of October) in one of the small cabins at the NEOC Twin Pines camp. The cabin was exactly as we expected – rustic, yet cozy. It got a little chilly at night, but the propane stove kept the cabin warm and toasty. No TV or WiFi in the cabin, but we expected this as well. This short getaway was about getting out of the city and unplugging and our cabin met our expectations. ||||||We ate breakfast and dinner at the River Drivers restaurant which is attached to the main lodge. The food was great and the service was top notch. There is a TV and WiFi service in the lodge if you need to check in with home or work. ||||||The grounds of the property are well laid out and maintained. Stayed a couple of nights in the Trout Mountain lodge, large and spacious, yet comfortable and cozy too. Clean and well maintained. Looks out to the spectacular views of Lake Millinocket and Mount Khathadin. The lake is truly gorgeous and they have free kayaks you can take out. The site is scattered with campfire spots around the lake, far enough apart of afford some privacy between groups. There's also a rec center and some other outdoor activities. The staff treated us very well, everyone so friendly and obviously happy to be working at such a great place. There are also some cabins in another section of the center that are more upscale and private. Both sides have their appeal and it's beautiful. Can't wait to go back!

My fiance and I happened to stumble upon this place while having a get away for our anniversary, and it honestly was the cherry on top! We planned on staying in a tent for the weekend and just stopped in for lunch. The lunch was so delicious and the service was flawless. As we chatted with the extremely friendly staff they offered to show up a "cabin". Well this "cabin" was absolutely breath taking! Needless to say we stayed the nice. And enjoyed dinner at the restaurant for the 2nd time that day. The home was extremely clean and the beds were so comfortable! The views were amazing as well. I can not wait to go here again!
