Nesowadnehunk Lake Wilderness Campground

Great place I'm planning to go every year. Just outside side of Baxter state park. Just a warning its all rough roads and make sure you bring what you need limited cell service and limited supplies close by.

A beautifully rustic campground. The beds in the cabins are more comfortable than we expected for the rustic setting. The chickens are a blessing for lowering the tick population. We had dogs in our party that were on high alert with them around. Can't wait to go back again soon!

Last time I stayed here it was 25 years ago. The new owner made some significant improvements. We were able to secure the last cabin rental for our week of the moose hunt. The cabin had propane heat, lights, stove and fridge. The camp was supplied electricity from 5-9pm. I believe they ran the generator for a few hours in the morning. There was a water spigot outside of the camp. We used it for cleaning dishes. I never inquired if it was safe to drink. I think it was but I brought up 12 gallons of water so I didn't ask. Running the bruners on the stove was plenty enough to heat the place. The upper lofts were sweltering hot using just the stove and it being 40 degrees at night. Our cabin did not have running water but some of them do. I believe a couple have showers and toilet

One of the most beautiful places in Maine. Great fishing too, though it is fly fish only. The cabins are wonderful and affordable and the view is incredible.
